There’s something wrong, but what?

It’s hard to put your finger on what’s wrong. Getting a good night’s sleep is difficult. Now you drag yourself out of bed to meet up with friends.

A shift occurs from being overwhelmingly stressed out to intense apathy and lack of motivation. Life is full of stress, burnout, anxiety, and depression. You have no clue as to why. However, you often wonder if it’s laziness.

The routine involves feeling stressed, pushing it down, ignoring it, and white-knuckling through the day. There’s no other way because you never ask for help and are always the one other people rely on to get things done. This approach worked for years – until it didn’t and hadn’t for a while.

The stress feels like it’s building up and making you afraid that it will explode one day, and you’re not sure where or when it’ll happen. And your mind starts running at about 1,000 mph with the “what ifs.” “What if everything falls to pieces or if I end up right back where I started – or worse? What if I ruin the good things in my life? What if I’m asking too much of the universe to feel peaceful and calm?

All these “what ifs” cause you to wonder where the “off” switch is on these thoughts. It’s exhausting.
